The final round of the ACI Racing Weekend has come to an end at Mugello International Circuit, with Sunday’s action dominated by rain, which played a major role in the races and the decisive battles for the 2026 championship titles. Challenging weather conditions, unexpected twists and closely fought races delivered an exciting season finale at the Tuscan circuit.

In TCR Italy, newly crowned champion Michele Imberti, who had already secured the title on Saturday, ended the season with a victory behind the wheel of his Hyundai Elantra N TCR Evo, finishing ahead of Giacomo Prandelli and Marco Pellegrini. In the DSG category, Daniele Verrocchio claimed victory ahead of Davide Casetta and Temel Camlidag. It was an unfortunate day for Sandro Pelatti, who started from pole position but was forced to retire following an off-track excursion in the early stages of the race. However, the Tuscan driver still secured the Master title thanks to his podium finish on Saturday. Local driver Cosimo Barberini also delivered a strong performance, starting from eighth position due to the reversed grid following his Race 1 victory and fighting his way up to fourth place, despite a driveshaft issue slowing him down in the closing stages.

In the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, amid rain and Safety Car interventions, Andrea Bristot once again emerged victorious, claiming Race 2 and completing a perfect weekend following Saturday’s win and his triumph in the 2026 overall championship. Behind him were Flynt Schuring Van Soelen and Marcus Voisin. In the Michelin Cup, the title went to Tuscan driver Stefano Stefanelli, who finished second behind Alex De Giacomi, with Cesare Brusa completing the podium.

In the Italian F4 Championship, Race 3 saw young Elia Weiss claim his first victory in the series, delivering an impressive performance ahead of David Cosma Cristofor and Andy Consani. British driver Kenzo Craigie also had reason to celebrate, securing the Rookie title and completing an outstanding season.

There was plenty of excitement in the Italian GT Endurance Championship as well, with a thrilling three-hour race full of drama and constantly changing circumstances. Persistent rain made track conditions particularly treacherous, leading to numerous off-track incidents and repeated Safety Car interventions. The action began right from the start, with Akamanaging to overtake Ferrari in the opening stages of the race.

The battle remained intense until the final laps, when contact between Segù and Cressoni prevented the anticipated three-way fight for victory. Amid retirements, overtakes and continuous changes in the running order, Alessandro Balzan and Dylan Medler, representing Rinaldi Racing, emerged victorious and were crowned 2026 Italian GT Endurance Champions. Their flawless performance was built on careful race management, great determination and decisive overtaking manoeuvres in extremely challenging conditions.

The rain continued even during the podium ceremonies, but it did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the drivers and fans. An intense weekend of motorsport at Mugello thus came to an end, featuring spectacular racing and newly crowned champions across the fifteen corners of the Tuscan circuit.
