The Hankook 12H ITALY-MUGELLO was held for the first time in 2014 and suitably, a Ferrari team came out on top in the Italian enduro with victory for the AF Corse team. Last year’s race saw victory for German team, Herberth Motorsport with a Porsche 997 GT3 R. For this year’s race, there is again a variety of beautiful sports cars on the grid: Lamborghini Huracán, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, Audi R8 LMS, Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche 911 Cup cars will all be represented. A spectacular first for the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook is the presence of the American team, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, with its pair of purpose-built SCG 003C sports cars, previously only raced on the Nordschleife. The GT4 and touring car classes also have a strong presence with a good mix of cars, including SEAT, BMW, Ford and Honda. Next to the regular entrants in the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, there are also plenty of teams who will be competing for the first time in the event at Mugello. The Mugello circuit, owned by Ferrari, is known as a challenging track with many fast corners and plenty of undulation. Beautifully located in the rolling hills of Tuscany, the circuit is a popular venue for teams and drivers. Next to spectacular cars and the nice landscape, Italy is also well-known for its cuisine with excellent food – by no means just limited to pizza and pasta. The Mugello region has plenty to offer in this respect as well, including the famous bistecca fiorentina as the regional speciality. The proximity of the city of Florence with its world-famous listed monuments is making the race at Mugello an ideal destination for a long weekend in Tuscany. For those staying at home, qualifying and the race will be broadcast live on Motors TV with commentary by Radiolemans.com. There will also be a live-stream in HD quality with action from the onboard cameras and commentary from Radiolemans.com on the 24H SERIES website.
